What are ”dry pastels”?
When I read about conté crayons, dry pastels were also mentioned. What is that?

Dry or Soft Pastel's are more chalk based as opposed to Oil Pastel's. Here is a really good Article that explains the difference in more detail.

they are somewhat like that. Some are creamier not quite as dry. The more expensive ones are really nice!
