Conté à Paris-Sketching Techniques Using Conte

I recently met a fellow Artist at a festival. It was really fun meeting someone new and talking "Art." This artist was talking about using Conte crayons to sketch with. For whatever reason I could not remember what Conte crayons were. I realized later that I had some in a drawer and had drawn with them before. Duh… Confused

😟feeling a bit silly now.

Here is a great video on using Conte Crayons.

Enjoy!🙂

Conte Crayons are made from natural pigment, . They are square and are harder than regular crayons, koalin clay and graphite. Picasso, Degas, Delacroix,  and other well known artists have been known to use them. Pastels create a lot of dust when using them but these are harder and contain more wax so they don't have that problem of creating dust.
